Thank you for your interest in Lakewood Cooperative Preschool (LCP). We look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you with the enrollment process in any way we can. This page describes the enrollment process and deadlines.
 
We are currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. This website has all of the application forms available for download. You may also email info@lakewood.org or leave a message on the school machine at 206-725-6915 and forms can be mailed to you.

In order to be considered for enrollment, a complete, on time (by March 12, 2010) application is required.

Checklist for a complete application: (click links to download forms)

1. A completed application form (2 pages).
2. Copy of a valid Driver's License.
3. A completed and signed immunization form (or waiver).
4. A valid check for the $35 application fee ($10 for each additional child) made payable to Lakewood Cooperative Preschool.
5. A class visit-arranged at the open house or through Sydney McComas at 206-725-6915. (To take place late February through mid-March.)
6. Not required, but strongly encouraged- attending our open house on February 2nd, 2010 7-9 p.m. for an opportunity to meet and talk with teachers, current families and explore the school.
7. Scholarship application, if interested. (Send separately to address below.)

Deadline for applications is March 12, 2010 (postmarked by the deadline). All on-time applications will be considered at the same time.

All eligible children of families who have at least one child currently attending LCP receive priority admission. Families who do not have at least one child currently attending LCP but who have had at least one child complete 1 year at LCP will have second priority. * All other openings are filled by lottery. When all the slots are full, we will begin an active waitlist. Any applicants who met the March 12 deadline but were not accepted because classes were full will be put on the waitlist using a lottery system. Any applications received AFTER March 12 will go on the waitlist after the first group is placed on the list. Any applications that are incomplete will not be considered.

*Priority alumni status will be determined as follows:

1. Previous child has completed 3 consecutive years at LCP.
2. Previous child has completed 2 consecutive years at LCP.
3. Previous child has completed 1 year at LCP.

Families will be notified by mail (postmarked by March 27, 2010) as to whether they are accepted or are on the waitlist. Families who are accepted have until April 10, 2010 to decide whether to attend. If you are accepted, to reserve your spot, you need to pay first and last months' tuition (September and June). If you later choose to leave the school, you will forfeit this payment.

If and when movement occurs in classes, the enrollment coordinator will notify the family at the top of the class list. That family has two days to decide whether they wish to take the slot before we offer it to the next family on the list.
